On the ridges of Nevada,
a hundred miles of sun, wind, and feet that won’t stop.
In June 2024, Xiang Fuzhao stood at the start line of Western States for the first time.
The trail was new. But the mountains knew her — and she knew them.
We followed her the whole way. A hundred miles, uncut.
Every breath, every hesitation, every glance at the sky —
left for the camera.
She finished second among the women.
First time on this course, on the podium.
Enough to silence the room.
There are no shortcuts in the frame —
only the road she ran, and the people who ran it with her.
“The first time doesn’t have to be slow.”
