October 2020, western Sichuan.
My first time standing on this plateau —
I had never known a landscape could be this magnificent.
The waters of Huanglong are an unreal blue,
snow mountains stand at the end of the course,
and for the first time, trail running entered my lens.
The altitude is high, the breathing heavy,
but lift your head and the snow peaks are right there,
runners moving between earth and sky.
I filmed very little those days,
because most of the time, I was just looking at the mountains.
Only later did I understand — this was western Sichuan’s first lesson to me.
“The mountains taught me more than my lens ever could.”
